Under the PC-Sea

by Sophia Kyranos

Yesterday at Alumni Hall, PCC students and proctors went down under for the Under the PC-Sea dance to get groovy and parrrrrtayy!

As the students walked into Alumni Hall they were jamming out to bops and were greeted by some PCC Players. It started off with Cape Cod Noise. In this skit, an all female group of the staff came up with a parody of Hyannis Sound. They did a “beat box” to boots and cats. They even sang songs like “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Build Me Up Buttercup” in between they even did short stories about paddle boarding (if that’s even what it’s called), and called out Shea Hilton for “sleeping” during the show. Eventually, they concluded the skit by saying they would never see us again because they were booked for the next 100 years.

Before we knew it, they were off stage and a mini pool was on. Mr. Lewis, Mr. Sanford, and Mr. LaPointe performed the Life Guard skit. All Mr. Sanford wanted to do was relax in the mini pool… but SIKE! No matter what Mr. Sanford did, he always got yelled at by Mr. Lewis, who was just “trying to do his job.” Eventually, Mr. LaPointe went into the pool and crowded it by doing lap swimming. By the time Mr. LaPointe finally got out, Mr. Sanford had just about had enough, except his toe was cramping and everything got BLOWN out of proportion. Mr. Lewis ended up jumping on Mr. Sanford, giving him CPR, and concluded the skit by giving him mouth to mouth.

The third skit was a quick Randy Beeman brought to you by Mr. Leonard. In this mini-skit, Mr. Leonard told the story about how Randy Beeman once thought he was eating goldfish, but turns out he was in a pet store…

Once Mr. Leonard got off the stage, water moved on. Two proctors held a blue paper that acted as water and a group of proctors acted as a water and a group of proctors acted as synchronized swimmers. You had to see it to believe it.

Finally, it was time for the legendary cake skit. They performed it once normally, then singing, followed by the cast mixing up the roles, and finally they followed the theme by doing the skit under the PC-Sea.

After that, there were 3 game shows. One gameshow was swimming. In this, 2 students had to go on scooters, lie on their stomachs, and race to “swim” to the other side of Alumni Hall. Another game show was the Treasure Hunt where 2 halls went on a “treasure hunt” in the kiddie pool to find the red Roads Tag. Pink Floor game out victorious over the Green Floor! The other game show was fishing, where 2 students had to eat a gummy worm off a string.

By the time it was over, it was time to dance. The DJ was dumping bops that everyone loved. Towards the end of the dance, it got slowed down to “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper. With only 10 days left, and Ms. Ski going around reminding everyone (TO MAKE THEM CRY), it got emotional. Some people were even crying. Most were hugging, and it was rough for most people. To say the least, we had an amazing time dancing to a different beat.
