A Cool Core Course, Yo!
By Eoin Gallagher
Shielded from the weather in the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex, PCC students were amazed at John “The Yo-Yo Guy”’s tricks during last night’s core course. The performance started out small with commonly known such as walk the dog and around the world. Then, he got into more difficult tricks.
He called up some volunteers to hula-hoop while balancing a spinning plate, and Yo-Yoing. Some of his more complex tricks were rock the baby, Eiffel Tower, shoot to the moon, and even making animals out of the string. Then, he called up Quinn Davignon to show us what he could do, and we shocked the crowd.
After that, the Yo-Yo Guy showed off his extensive yo-yo collection consisting of a giant yo-yo, a tiny yo-yo, a hamburger yo-yo, a yo-yo with a bell, a light up yo-yo, and much more. He did a lot of tricks with each different yo-yo. He even had a yo-yo that was detached, and he threw it in the air and caught it on the string! He even called up a volunteer to catch the yo-yo.
For the grand finale, we turned his giant 6o pound storage yo-yo, and he balanced on it while it rolled, and he did tricks on yo-yos that he had in each hand. In closing, it was a fantastic core course.
