The Third Year Experience
by Joey Messier
As a third year, coming back to the program, to be honest, was difficult, but rewarding. Being a third year, I saw most of my friends leave from loss of interest, Driver’s Ed, work, or not having the money to attend again. Being a Third Year has its ups and downs because you can be a role model to the newer generations of PCCers, but you are older than the rest of the students. Most Third Years don’t come back because of many reasons, but the ones that do really benefit from the experience. I do understand why they don’t come back; the program hasn’t changed much since my first year except for the new addition of students going into eighth and other adaptations to keep the program current. But I'm glad that I came back: being able to attend the program again for a third summer has been very rewarding and I'm happy to be able to give back to PCC and share my experience with the First Years. My three years of PCC have been the summers of a lifetime!
