PCC IN REVIEW

by Ciara Lonergan

Well, fellow PCCers, we have made it to week 6. Now while there may be a few who have looked forward to August 12th, the majority of us here at camp have dreaded the Saturday. When the infamous day arrives, whether you’re crying tears of joy or sadness, take a moment and really think about the past 6 weeks.

Do you remember the first day? I do. Unpacking my clothes, my sheets, my fan. Meeting my roommate, my hall, and my proctor. These moments in my memory have kept with me over these weeks, a constant reminder of who I was then, and who I am now. One of our first Core Courses, 1-42, and how awkward everything was. The first dance when everyone truly began to bond.  The first week, despite how awkward it was, was one of the best.

Week two really got the ball rolling. People came out of their shells, experienced the possibilities of the program, and gained new friends. We were inspired by Reed Barrett and Katherine Mary Kraver and shown a new lifestyle by those from Boston Wise. The second week at PCC played a big role in showing us what the program is all about.

The halfway point of PCC brought new excitements. Classic PCC traditions such as the Lip-Sync and the Brain Show made an appearance during week three. And who could forget Lad in a Battle? What about the PCC Carnival? Week three was the week of thrills at PCC!

The fourth week of PCC showed us what PCC magic is all about. We watched the Lego Batman Movie as a program, we were amazed by the tricks and skills of BMX Bikers, and listened in wonder as Hyannis Sound showed off their perfect pitch. Everyone was surprised by the night Carnival! Overall, week four brought us all closer together.

Week five brought the imminent wave of tears. No one was ready for when reality hit, but we were ready for all the fantastic Core Courses it would bring. From K-9 dogs’ talents, to the Yo-Yo Guy’s superb skills to PCC’s talent in the Talent show. Week five was the week of showstopping abilities!

Now, though I am sad to say, we have reached week six. Are you ready for the Band, MandM, Theatre, and Improv shows? I certainly am! I know we will all be destroyed to have to leave this amazing camp, but we say goodbye with the promise to stay in touch and be friends forever. Here’s to another summer at PCC!
