FAMILY VISITING DAY AT PCC

by Ciara Lonergan

On August 4, 2017, PCC students invited their families to Stonehill for the annual Family Visiting day to show them what we as students do in our classes. It was interesting for students and parents alike. The students were able to show off all they learned and parents got to see what their children had been doing the past five weeks.

It started off as a normal day. Dragging yourself out of bed, getting ready, and going to breakfast. Then, instead of going to their first period classes, students waited on the quad for their parents to arrive from the Welcome Ceremony. Once the parents arrived, students brought them to their first period class where they showcased what they learned for one hour, then went to their second period class and did the same thing for another hour. After both classes were done, students were free to get their stuff and leave with their parents.

Overall, students were proud of all the work they had accomplished and very happy to present it to their parents, myself included. Family Visiting Day is a brilliant idea that students absolutely love.
