AROUND THE WORLD WITH THE YO-YO GUY

by the Young Voices Staff

Sitting in Lot 17 on Tuesday, August 1st, the students of PCC did not know what to expect when a silver minivan pulled up in front of the assembled students. No one could have been prepared when an astronaut stepped out of the mom van and began yo-yoing in zero gravity. This was the beginning of the Yo-Yo Guy’s Core Course presentation. YYG wowed the crowd with such classic yo-yo tricks as Around the World, The Cradle, and Walking the Dog. He also was able to make an Eiffel Tower out of the yo-yo string. But he was not the most impressive performer that evening: that honor belongs to his young son and assistant, Theodore. Young Theodore was a smash hit with the PCC students because of his wild dance moves and his overall cuteness. Proctors Mr. Cavagnaro and Mr. Arnold served as volunteers for YYG’s many tricks, including holding a match while YYG struck it with a yo-yo. Some students were also invited to participate in what ended up being a fast-paced and amusing night of yo-yopalooza.
