by Beth Pennington
Mr. Joseph ran a PST on Wednesday on his college major, Sports Psychology. He began with explaining the basic concept of the topic. Through his creative power point he demonstrated what a sports psychologist does to help players. The different sub-fields include clinical which works with athletes who are dealing with mental health issues. They offer counseling sessions as well as help with physical workout plans. Another sub-field is academic which can help you become a professor of sports psychology. The final sub-field Mr. Joseph discussed was physical which consists of traveling with the team to their games and to talk with the players to help them focus on the fame. Mr. Joseph hopes to one day travel with the Boston Celtics. He also explained why he chose the career path and what qualities you should have when pursuing this type of career. The presentation ended with a video on "Four Ways to be a Good Athlete." Mr. Joseph gave great insight into a future career of sports psychology.
