MS. COLLINS' MISSION

Many new proctors have joined the PCC family to make the camp the summer of a lifetime. One of those proctors is a member of the Lime Floor, Ms. Collins. This is not her first experience with PCC as she was a student in 2014 and 2015. During an enthusiastic first year on the Purple floor, she took the classes Scrapbooking and Digital Photography. Her second year was spent dancing in Music & Movement and cracking jokes in Improv with her newfound friends on the Lime floor.

Looking back on her years as a PCC student, Ms. Collins found this as a valuable time in her life as it gave her skills that helped her in life. She says it gave her skills that helped her during her time in high school. "These fond memories made me all the more excited to rejoin the PCC program," she explains.

She exhibits a passion for helping kids and hopes to influence them to make the most of their summer, whether within Mr. Tressel's Journalism class, or while working on her drawl for this week's Hoe-Down.

Her new outlook on the program serves another purpose for Ms. Collins as she pursues a career in teaching. This passion for helping came from a mission trip to Jamaica her senior year of high school. While there, she lived and worked with adults with developmental disabilities. This was the subject of the PST she presented earlier in the week. She returned from Jamaica with a newfound vigor to make an impact on those who need it most. This has carried over to her role as a proctor, where she works tirelessly day in and day out to provide a magical summer for the students here at PCC.

As for now, she will focus on perfecting that Southern accent.
