PCC Got Talent!
by Sophie Nelson
Last Wednesday in the Shields Science Center, PCC 2018 hosted its annual Talent Show. There were eleven acts in total and they ranged from rap to twirl to top hits and all things inbetween.
The show started off with a Scavenger hunt looking for the acts that would be performing. Ms. Carlson, Ms. Gagnon, and some other proctors helped with clues to give to Ms. Brown, Ms. Bonenfant, and Mr. Ryan. Some clues were at Alumni Hall, the pond, the cafeteria, and other places around campus. The clues revealed the acts that were performing.
The first act that opened up the show was “Riptide” sung by Olivia Marangiello accompanied by Jill Sferrazza on the ukulele. The next act was yo-yoing by Quinn Davignon. It was amazing and everyone was so excited to see it. After that, Delaney Gardiner, Alanna Patterson, and Ash sang “Requiem” from the musical “Dear Evan Hansen.” Their vocals were coursing through the room getting everyone hyped up. Martens Mie was the next person up with sharing some Chinese culture. He talked about the instruments and it was very interesting, and the whole camp loved it. The act after Martens was one that blew everyone away. Richard Enos took the stage to sing Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” and no one expected it. His voice was angelic and everyone was singing along with him. It was a great transition to Alex Nason, memorizing the top hits of 2017. He could name any song from the top hits when given its number. It was incredible and the next act was dancing by Kate Freeman. She danced to a slow song and it looked beautiful. Ashlyn Worrell rapped Alphabets Aerobics which was originally performed by Daniel Radcliffe on a talk show. Mia Bennett and Mae Costa twirled their batons and they were on fire. The next act everyone loved; it was “Despacito” on the recorder. Chris Mason, Evan Parker, and Shea McClellan performed it while singing and dancing as well. Chelsea May closed the show with her great vocals and Dolly Parton’s song, “Jolene.”
The Talent Show let students and parents see their friends and kids showcasing their talents. All the acts did amazing and the Talent Show 2018 was one of the best ones PCC has seen!
