It's a Graveyard Smash!
By Makayla Sturgeon and Rebecca Bryson
PCC is coming to an end and Thursday, August 2nd marked the last theme dance of the year. This week was the Haunted Hill dance. As always, the night started with skits. It started off with the movie theatre sketch. Proctors including Mr. Lewis, Mr. Gaughan, Ms. Gray, Ms. DiCienzo, Mr. Dennis, and Ms. Rielly sat in chairs mimicking a movie theatre they passed food and drinks along a line of people, and by the time all this stuff got to Mr. Gaughan, he poured the food and drink on Mr. Lewis’ head. Finally, a romantic part of the “movie” came on and they blew kisses along the line. When it got to Mr. Gaughan, he full on kissed Mr. Lewis, and the crowd was roaring.
Next up on stage was Ms. Brainard, Ms. Elman, Ms, Marble, Ms. Kent, Ms. Connell, and Ms. Bigelow performing their water fountain skit. In this skit, all the proctors drink water and spit it out like a fountain at each other in a line. This went on for multiple times.
Next, there was the famous all male dance troupe. All the male proctors paraded on stage with pink shorts and neon blue leg warmers. They were armored in bright crop tops and sweat bands. Mr. Leonard, the leader, pushed the guys to their limits. They danced their butts off on that stage.
Next up, the almost forgotten skit was the cake skit! At first, the cake skit was the original version, next they did it in a tired version, then a scared version, then a haunted version. This included the original Ms. Gagnon, Mr. Keough, Ms. Brown, Mr. Sanford, and Ms. Kent.
Finally, we reached the game show portion of the night. The first game of the night was mummy wrapping. Ms. Marble and Ms. Barnoski’s halls were called up to the stage. The PCCers had a minute to wrap their proctors in toilet papers. It was a tough call, but Ms. Marble’s hall won.
The next game consisted of six students. These students had to eat a donut off of a string and the first one to eat the whole donut off the string without using their hands won. Eoin Gallagher, a participant in this contest, said “eating the donut was hard because every time you went for it, it moved away, but the donut itself wasn’t too bad,”. The winner was Jimmy!
Now it was time for the broom race. Two students, Mike and Apple, mounted their brooms and raced for their lives. Mike was dressed in a huge dino costume, but he still didn’t come out victorious.
The dance started off with the original song “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. Everybody had a great time at the dance, as it was the last themed dance of the summer. In the middle of the dance, all the journalism students got hyped up when the song “Heaven Is A Place On Earth” came on. We all found each other in the corner of Alumni Hall. It was by far the best song of the night.
As always, we ended the night with the PCC traditional songs. There was “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “American Pie”. It was an amazing dance that will go down in PCC history.
