FOOD REVIEW

by Shaeleigh Madan

When I first got here all I heard about were the chicken fritters. Everyone said how amazing they were and I for sure thought that they were just going to be normal chicken nuggets. So, when I walked into the cafeteria for the first time for lunch, all I thought about were those chicken fritters. The air was filled with the smell of crispy, warm, chicken that I wanted to try. As I was approaching the lunch line, all of the second year students were yelling and shouting about the food. My friend and I neared the front of the line and we got our plates full of chicken fritters and French fries.

Since it was one of the first meals, we had to sit with our halls. In my hall, there are two second year students who waited for all of us to come to the table. At the same time, each of us took a bite of the chicken fritters. My prediction was wrong. I thought they were going to be just like normal crispy chicken, but no, they were one of the best things that I had ever tasted.

Moving on to dinner, I got the turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. I was definitely skeptical about the dinner because you know how cafeteria food usually isn’t that good? Well, I expected it to be like the school lunches just with more of a variety. However, when I tried the turkey and mashed potatoes, they were really good. They reminded me of coming downstairs on Thanksgiving and smelling all of the delicious food that is in a big spread across the dining room table. Or at least that’s what happens at my house.

The next morning, I was pumped for breakfast. After the great lunch and dinner, I had a feeling that out of all meals, breakfast would be the very best. When I got my food, it was your typical scrambled eggs with bacon and pancakes. However, I just knew that these were going to be better than your usual pancake mix. As per usual, they tasted amazing and I couldn’t get enough.

Hopefully you guys agree with me on the food choices. Can’t wait to eat all of the food throughout the rest of the program!
