2017 LIP SYNC

by Shaeleigh Madan

Last night on July 19th was the annual Lip Sync of PCC 2017! Students filed into the Merkert gym excited and eager to watch their friends perform. There were about ten acts, each with their own personality.  Each time a new act came on the stage the crowd cheered and applauded in a big roar of enthusiasm. It was a great sight to see all of the performing students lose themselves in the music as they sang and danced their hearts out.

Every act was outstanding, and you could tell that people put a lot of time into practicing and getting everything just right. Some acts sang the “Friends” theme song, “The Gospel Truth” from Hercules, “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars, and many more popular songs. I couldn’t pick a personal favorite however: each act had their own costumes and all of them looked like they were having so much fun.

Being able to get up in front of a big crowd is hard. Especially when you have to perform, it may seem nerve racking. I don’t know if I would ever be able to do what some of the PCC students did last night. What they did took a lot of guts and bravery. However, they all did wonderful. Each costume was fun and detailed to fit the theme of each song. I don’t know if next year’s Lip Sync will be able to top this year’s, but the students of next year can try. I can’t wait to come back next year and see all of the new faces at the Lip Sync of PCC 2018!
