LET'S DO THE TIME WARP
by Beth Pennington
Sock hop dancers and greasers came together, as well as visitors from the past and the future, for PCC's Week Five "Time Warp" dance. The evening kicked off with the PCC Players reading out the annual "Proctor Mean Tweets." Poor proctors! Next was the male proctors performed "If I Were a Female Proctor" as laughter filled the air. Then it was the wonder of the Greek Goddess skit. A cascade of water was spit on the proctors' backs.
Calling all men dancers! The 80s dancer skit was a hit as the men gave it their all. The dance transitioed into the game show, beginning with a good old fashioned joust competition. Kihan Santiago and Olivia Stone faced off, throwing pool noodles into hula hoops. Kihan won, getting just one more than Olivia. The next game was naming proctors as babies with just three seconds for each set. Eoin Gallagher and Beth Pennington tried their best to identify as many proctors as they could. Eoin took the lead, naming two proctors. The last game shore was a mummy contest against Ms. Pennington's hall and Mr. Schmeer's hall. The Pennington girls won as they wrapped the most toilet paper around their proctor. Before the dance there was one more PCC players. PCC Back to the Future 2 played as the team fought off juicebox robots and saved PCC in the future. The pre-dance festivities closed after they announced the costume contest winners: Cole Harrington with his boat, Abby Morgan with her pilgrim outfit, and Mr. Ryan with his doll Clarice.
Songs played throughout the night with students dancing through the decades. There was a little bit of twisting and spinning with friends as they danced the evening away. The classic songs filled Alumni Hall as students reflected on the summer with the friends they had made. "Nightswimming" was brought back and everyone swam around in a circle with a smile from cheek to cheek. "American Pie" ended the dance and the students left another dance happy as can be, wishing PCC was not almost over.
